POSITION SUMMARY:

Reports To: Director of Finance & CEO

The Accounting Supervisor will oversee daily accounting operations within the healthcare organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and effective team management. This role supports the internal accounting department and supervises a team of accountants and clerks.

What You’ll Do:

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including assigning tasks, reviewing work, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Oversee general ledger activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor compliance with GAAP, healthcare financial regulations, and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.
  • Support audits and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Identify process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
  • 3–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or a regulated industry.
  • 1–3 years of supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and healthcare financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or ERP systems).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with healthcare billing and reimbursement processes.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and other healthcare compliance standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
