Job Title: Team Lead Provider Enrollment

Reports to: Director of Provider Operations

Status: Full-time

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Provider Enrollment Team Lead is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations related to provider enrollment activities. This position acts as a liaison between the team and management, ensuring timely and accurate submission and maintenance of provider applications with government and commercial payers. The Team Lead supports team development, workflow optimization, and resolution of enrollment-related issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Key Responsibilities:

Team Supervision and Leadership:

  • Provide daily supervision and guidance to the provider enrollment team.
  • Assign tasks and monitor workload to ensure timely completion of enrollment and recredentialing activities.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for team members on complex or urgent enrollment issues.

Enrollment Application Management:

  • Take direct responsibility for completing and submitting provider enrollment and re-enrollment applications to Medicare and Medicaid as needed.
  • Ensure all applications are accurately and thoroughly completed, with all required supporting documentation attached.
  • Monitor the status of submitted applications and follow up with payers to resolve issues or expedite processing.
  • Maintain detailed records and tracking logs of submitted applications and correspondence with payers.

Process Management:

  • Oversee and support the preparation and quality assurance of team-submitted applications.
  • Ensure all provider data is accurate and consistent across internal systems and payer portals.
  • Assist in implementing and refining enrollment processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Act as a liaison between the enrollment team, billing staff, credentialing specialists, and provider offices.
  • Communicate changes in payer requirements and internal procedures to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Partner with the credentialing and revenue cycle teams to ensure timely provider activation.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations, payer-specific requirements, and internal policies.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of enrollment actions, communications, and decisions in tracking systems.
  • Support audit requests by providing accurate and timely documentation related to enrollment activities.

Reporting and Performance Monitoring:

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as enrollment turnaround times, error rates, and pending applications.
  • Generate reports for leadership and recommend strategies for performance improvement.
  • Provide regular feedback and support to team members to promote growth and accountability

What We're Looking for:

Education:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of provider enrollment or credentialing experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of provider enrollment processes for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
  • Proficiency in healthcare systems (e.g., CAQH, PECOS, NPPES, credentialing databases).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team
