Summary of Position

Skin and Cancer Institute is a U.S.-based dermatology group looking to hire a full-time Revenue Accountant based in the Philippines. This is a remote and direct-hire position. We are not a recruiting agency. The selected candidate will work directly with our company on a long-term basis. The schedule will follow U.S. Pacific Time. Healthcare or medical office experience is preferred.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The Revenue Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of revenue-related transactions by reconciling payments recorded in Modernizing Medicine (ModMed) with bank deposits and cash activity.

• This role reviews daily payment postings, patient payments, insurance reimbursements, electronic remittance advice (ERA) transactions, and merchant service deposits to verify that all funds received are accurately recorded in the practice management system and reflected in the organization's bank accounts.
• The Revenue Accountant investigates and resolves discrepancies, identifies posting errors, tracks unapplied cash, and ensures that revenue is recognized in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
• The Revenue Accountant collaborates closely with billing, payment posting, and finance teams to maintain the integrity of the revenue cycle.
• Key responsibilities include performing monthly bank reconciliations, analyzing variances between ModMed payment activity and bank transactions, preparing journal entries, supporting month-end close processes, and providing detailed reconciliation reports to management.
• The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in healthcare revenue-cycle systems to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and timely resolution of revenue-related issues.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Qualifications/Required Skills

• Holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and has a strong understanding of accounting principles and revenue recognition standards, including ASC 606.
• Relevant experience in general ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting, with 2-5 years of accounting experience.
• Professional certifications such as CPA or progress toward obtaining a CPA are often preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems such as QBO, Modmed, Lightspeed or Sage Intaact is also highly valued, along with the ability to analyze complex financial transactions and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations.

Required Skills

•  Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to accurately interpret contracts, identify revenue recognition requirements, and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills are essential for managing large volumes of financial data and meeting deadlines.
• The role also requires excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with finance, sales, legal, and operations teams.
• Knowledge of ASC 606, financial reporting processes, internal controls, and ERP systems is critical, along with the ability to adapt to changing business needs while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
