What You’ll Do:

Summary of Position

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Analyst is responsible for analyzing outstanding receivables from third-party payers and patients, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to improve collection performance. This role supports the financial stability of the organization by producing accurate AR reports, running audit logs, updating performance dashboards, and collaborating across departments to support timely and accurate reimbursement. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Analyze accounts receivable aging reports to identify trends and prioritize collection strategies
  • Track and report payer performance and denial trends to leadership
  • Collaborate with coding, billing, front office, and authorization teams to address root causes of delays or denials
  • Run audit log reports and report out on weekly production by individual staff members and by team
  • Update and maintain AR metrics dashboard on a weekly basis for internal leadership visibility
  • Monitor and report on key AR performance indicators including Days in AR, aging over 90 days, and collection rates
  • Assist in month-end reporting and reconciliation processes
  • Support internal audits, payer audits, and compliance-related data requests
  • Recommend process improvements to reduce AR days and improve cash flow 

What we're looking for:

Education: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field preferred. 

Experience: 

  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, billing, or AR follow-up required 
  • Must have expert-level experience in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, data modeling) 
  • Must always maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality 

Skills:

  • Strong analytical & problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to interpret EOBs and remittance advices 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  • High attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
